Motherhood have announced details for their third full-length record, Dear Bongo,, with the release of “Bird Chirp”, the playful Mekons-meets-Deerhoof new single, and album opener.
“art rock with a mischief-spiked sensibility”

The stunning visuals that accompany this song show the beauty of New Brunswick as drone footage captures both the Nashwaak river valley and the bay of Caraquet. The song also features Fredericton-based country band The Hypochondriacs singing a rendition of the traditional song ‘Will The Circle Be Unbroken’ at the end.
“arch indie-art funk” – PopMatters
“low-key…spunky jam…twang and cowbell.” – The East
Motherhood’s upcoming third full-length album Dear Bongo, (comma inclusive) centres around a painter coming out of a relationship. Bored of typical canvas, he paints rooms, other artists’ paintings, buildings, and highway lines until he ultimately decides to fix nature’s colours – most of which now seem flawed to his obsessed eye.
